Poem – Angel of August

It was destined in the stars
that I would search for Love so elusive.
As I lay there in my drying blood,
Life seemed just so intrusive.

Perfection came to form for me
in eyes of pale ice blue.
I warmed to them and reached for them,
and those eyes belonged to you.

My heart began to beat again
and I forgot about my sorrow.
You built up my destroyed foundation.
You gave me Hope for a better tomorrow.

You staunched my wounds,
taught me again how to breathe.
I know I’ll love you ’til my end of days,
when Life’s last light in me leaves.
